New Year’s Eve is all about having a blast, right? So why not add some hilarious Minute to Win It games to the mix? These games are quick, easy, and perfect for adults and kids alike. We played some of these last year, and let me tell you, watching everyone scramble to beat the clock was priceless! Here’s a list of 17 games that’ll keep everyone entertained until the clock strikes midnight.
These games can be played in three fun ways, depending on your group size and vibe:
Adjust any game to make it easier or harder—whatever makes it more fun for your crew!
Supplies: Balloons, confetti, and tape
How to Play: Fill a balloon with confetti and tape it to a chair. Each player must pop the balloon using only their knees—no hands allowed! We tried this last year, and it was a blast seeing who could pop it the fastest without sliding off the chair!
Supplies: Ping pong balls and cups
How to Play: Each player has one minute to drop ping pong balls from a chair into a cup below. Whoever lands the most balls in the cup wins! It’s harder than it looks, especially after a few rounds of laughter.
Supplies: Plastic tiaras or rings and empty bottles
How to Play: Set up some bottles and give each player a tiara or ring. They have to toss the rings onto the bottles to score. My cousin Dana nailed it on her first try, which was pretty impressive!
Supplies: Balloons, small slips of paper with resolutions written on them
How to Play: Write down resolutions on small paper slips, place one in each balloon, and blow them up. Players have to pop the balloons using only their bodies (no hands) and find the resolution hidden inside.
Supplies: Small plastic balls and New Year’s noisemakers
How to Play: Using only a noisemaker, players must move a small ball across a table into a goal. First to reach the end wins! We laughed so hard watching everyone blow their way to victory.
Supplies: Socks, a slippery floor, and a start/finish line
How to Play: Each player slides across the floor on their knees or stomach to reach the finish line. The fastest slider wins. Perfect for anyone with a super smooth floor!
Supplies: Cookies
How to Play: Players place a cookie on their forehead and try to get it to their mouth without using their hands. We had everyone cracking up as cookies fell all over the place!
Supplies: Plastic cups and popcorn
How to Play: Players toss popcorn into a teammate’s plastic champagne flute from a distance. First team to fill the flute wins. Pro tip: use real popcorn for extra fun!
Supplies: Plastic cups
How to Play: Players must stack 10 cups in a pyramid and then unstack them before the time runs out. This one’s harder than it sounds, especially under the pressure of the clock!
Supplies: Small plastic cups, cotton balls, and straws
How to Play: Players have one minute to blow cotton balls into a plastic cup using only a straw. The first person to get all their cotton balls into the cup wins.
Supplies: Party hats
How to Play: Stack five party hats on top of each other without letting them fall. You’d be surprised how tricky this gets, especially when everyone’s watching!
Supplies: Glow sticks and plastic bottles
How to Play: Snap some glow sticks into rings and toss them onto bottles. The player who lands the most rings on the bottles wins!
Supplies: Balloons and string
How to Play: Tie a balloon to each player’s ankle, and players have to stomp on others’ balloons while protecting their own. Last one with an unpopped balloon wins.
Supplies: Ping pong balls and a table
How to Play: Players bounce ping pong balls into cups across the table. First one to land three balls in the cups wins. So simple but so fun!
Supplies: Confetti and spoons
How to Play: Players transfer confetti from one bowl to another using only a spoon held in their mouth. Whoever gets the most confetti in the bowl within a minute wins!
Supplies: Tape, paper plates
How to Play: Create a tic-tac-toe board with tape on the floor. Players use paper plates as markers, racing to make three in a row. First one to win the tic-tac-toe round wins the game.
Supplies: Dice and paper
How to Play: Players roll dice and try to get a specific combination (like three 6’s). If they roll the winning combo, they yell “Cheers!” and win. Perfect for a quick burst of excitement!
